Serve a Meal
Serve a meal at the Emergency Shelter (4-6 people needed per shift), or supply, prepare, and serve the meal.
Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Mon-Fri
                8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Sat/Sun
Lunch:     12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Mon-Sun
Dinner:    5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Mon-Sun (Due to regular commitments of many volunteer groups, dinner opportunities are limited.)

  • Administrative
    Help office staff with mass mailings by stuffing envelopes
    Hand-write thank you letters to donors
  • Outdoors
    Plant and maintain flower beds
    Trim plants
    Plant bulbs for spring flowers (flowers should be provided by volunteer or donated)
    Pick up trash around the yard and parking lot
    Sweep curbs where grass and trash reside
    Sweep rocks back into place
    Sweep sidewalks
    Weed-eat edges of sidewalks
    Pull weeds
    Trim bushes
    Prune dead limbs and overgrowth from trees
    Assist with the Hope Center garden
  • Indoors
    Apply a fresh coat of paint to interior walls, paint business offices, touch-up existing paint
    Decorate halls/bulletin boards
    Wipe down mattresses
    Organize personal needs closet
    Wash windows and/or walls
    Host a party for clients during or after a meal
    Become a regular monthly or weekly volunteer and help with needs as they arise
    Donate ingredients and prepare sandwiches for our HopeMobile clients

Hold a Personal Needs Drive
We are always in need of shower shoes, new white socks, notebook paper, pens, bus tokens, large-sized clothing and shoes, winter coats, like-new or new shoes, washcloths, towels, trial-size soap, trial-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, trial-size or spray deodorant, trial-size shampoo, trial-size conditioner, trial-size shaving cream, disposable razors, cleaning supplies, kitchen towels (these can be inexpensive, bulk packaged), pot holders, plastic soup bowls, hand-held can openers, small knives, ice cream scoop, smocks for cooks to wear over clothing (sizes MD, LG, and XL), stainless steel serving spoons, spices, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, sugar, coffee, tomato juice, oatmeal, oil, oil spray, condiments.
